சொந்த மண்ணிலிருந்து வெகு தொலைவில் குடிபெயர்ந்திருந்தாலும், மலேசியாவில் சோழிய வெள்ளாளர்கள் தங்கள் தாய் நாட்டின் வாசனையை மறக்கவில்லை.
சோழிய வெள்ளாளர் கலாச்சார சங்கம் 1996 ஆம் ஆண்டு உருவாக்கப்பட்டது.
தமிழ் கலாச்சாரம் மற்றும் ஒற்றுமையை பாதுகாப்பதையே நோக்கமாக கொண்டு தொடங்கப்பட்டது. இது கோலாலம்பூரில் நடந்த ஒரு கல்யாண நிகழ்ச்சியில் டாக்டர் நற்குணம் பிள்ளை மற்றும் குழுவினரின் செயல்பாடுகளுடன் தொடங்கியது.

Cholia Vellalar in Malaysia has been in forefront in maintaining their own rich culture and tradition that had its origin from Tamil Nadu, South India. Cholia Vellalar’s in Malaysia do not forget the fragrance of their motherland. Cholia Vellalar Cultural Association was established in 1996 with the aim of preserving the culture and unity among them. This cultural awakening began with the efforts of Dr Narkunam Pillai and his group in one of the wedding functions in Kuala Lumpur. The association has since grown and flourished.
During its early years, the association primarily organized small meetings and discussions in functions. Later, it expanded to include art and cultural events, sports tournaments, cultural events. Today, the association continues to serve the community in enriching and upholding the cultural events and unity among their members.The association’s journey has been marked by milestones.
Despite of its origin of culture and tradition form Tamil Nadu, South India Malaysian Cholia Vellalars, expatriates and individuals from other states have also become active members of the association. The love for the Tamil language, unity, and cultural pride continue to drive the Cholia Vellalar Cultural Association’s efforts today.

அனைத்துத் தலைவர் உரை
On a beautiful day, August 31st, 1996, an association was established in Petaling Jaya. The location was selected because it was where Mr. Masilamani’s eldest daughter’s wedding was held at Maha Mariamman in Petaling Jaya. After a year of struggle, the association was eventually registered. So, who was the person with the idea to start the association?
The person was Dr. Narkunam, the founder of Cholia Vellalar Association, and the first president of the association.
ஆகஸ்ட் 31, 1996 அன்று ஒரு அழகான நாளில், பெட்டாலிங் ஜெயாவில் ஒரு சங்கம் நிறுவப்பட்டது. பெட்டாலிங் ஜெயாவில் உள்ள மகா மாரியம்மன் கோவிலில் திரு. மாசிலாமணியின் மூத்த மகளின் திருமணம் நடைபெற்ற இடம் என்பதால் அந்த இடம் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது. ஒரு வருட போராட்டத்திற்குப் பிறகு, சங்கம் இறுதியில் பதிவு செய்யப்பட்டது. எனவே, சங்கத்தைத் தொடங்க யோசனையுடன் இருந்த நபர் யார்?
அந்த நபர் சோழிய வேளாளர் சங்கத்தின் நிறுவனர் மற்றும் சங்கத்தின் முதல் தலைவரான டாக்டர் நற்குணம் ஆவார்.
Mr. Arasu served as our second president, followed by Dr. Narkunam as the third president. Mr. Nagarajan (owner of Nagaz Restaurant) was the fourth president for five years, before being succeeded by Dato Dr. Mathavan, the fifth president of the association from March 2015.
During his tenure, Dato Dr. Mathavan initiated the development of a website for the community, which was officially launched during the AGM in March 2015.
Today, our community has flourished into a modern, educated, and well-informed group, consisting of many professions such as businessmen, textile merchants, doctors, lawyers, journalists, engineers, provision shop owners, accountants, media agencies, and many more.
We owe our progress to the hard work and foresight of our forefathers and pioneers who laid the foundation for future generations.

நமது சோழிய வெள்ளாளர் கலை மற்றும் கலாச்சார அமைப்பு 1995 ஆகஸ்டு மாதம் 31ம் தேதி மதிப்பிற்குரிய டாக்டர் நற்குணம் அவர்களின் தலைமையிலான குழுவினரால் தொடங்கப்பட்டு இன்றுவரை சிறந்த முறையில் இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றது என்பதில் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் பெருமிதம் கொள்கின்றேன். இந்த அமைப்பை உருவாக்கி செயல்படுவதற்கு காரணமாக இருந்த டாக்டர் திரு நற்குணம் அவர்களுக்கும் அவர்கள் குழுவினருக்கும் நன்றியையும் பாராட்டுகளையும் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்வோம். மேலும் டத்தோ டாக்டர் மாதவன் ஆகிய நான் நமது சோழிய வெள்ளாளர் அமைப்பின் ஐந்தாவது தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டு , பணியாற்றி எனது தலைவர் பணியை நிறைவு செய்து ஆறாவது தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்ட மதிப்பிற்குரிய திருநாவுக்கரசு பிள்ளை அவர்களிடம் பொறுப்புகளை ஒப்படைத்து நிறைவு செய்தேன் . நமது சங்கம் சார்பாக இளைஞர்கள் மற்றும் பெண்கள் அனைவரையும் ஒருங்கிணைத்து அவர்கள் மென்மேலும் வளரவும் அரசு பதவிகளில் அவர்கள் உயர்ந்த நிலையை அடையவும் நாம் அவர்களுக்கு வழிகாட்டி உதவி செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதில் நான் மிகவும் ஆவலாக உள்ளேன். நம் இல்லங்களில் நடைபெறும் திருமண விழாக்கள் மற்றும் விழாக்களில் வாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கும் போதெல்லாம் நாம் பங்கு கொண்டு நமது சமுதாயத்தை மென்மேலும் எடுத்துச் செல்வதற்கும் நாம் ஒருங்கிணைந்து செயல்பட வேண்டும் என்பது எனது ஆசை. மற்றும் வேண்டுகோள், நமது இளைஞர்கள் மற்றும் பெண்கள் நம் சமூகம் சார்ந்த மாணவர்களையும் மாணவிகளையும் ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் ஆண்டு விழாக்கள் நடத்தி சிறந்த மதிப்பெண் பெற்றவர்களுக்கு பரிசுகள் வழங்கி ஊக்குவித்து உற்சாகப்படுத்தியும் அரசு பணிகளில் சேர்வதற்கான படிப்பு மற்றும் உதவிகள், நம் சங்கத்தின் சார்பில் செய்து கொடுக்க வேண்டும். நமது சமூகம் மற்றும் சங்கத்தின் உறுப்பினர்கள் இன்றளவும் வியாபாரம் செய்வதில் உயர்ந்த நிலையில் சிறந்த முறையில் செய்து வருகின்றனர் இதே போல் கல்வி நிறுவனங்கள் நிறுவி சிறந்த முறையில் செயல்பட்டு வருகின்றார்கள் இவர்களை எல்லாம் நாம் ஒருவருக்கு ஒருவர் தொடர்பு கொண்டு ஒருங்கிணைத்து நம் சங்கத்தின் வளர்ச்சி மிகப் பெரிய ஒரு அடையாளமாக மாற வேண்டும் . நமது சோழிய வெள்ளாளர்கள் சங்கம் உயர்ந்த நிலையை அடைய வேண்டும் . நாம் ஒன்றுபட்டால் நிச்சயமாக சாதித்து மற்ற சமூகங்களுக்கு ஒரு முன்னுதாரணமாக திகழ்வோம் வள்ளுவரின் வாக்கற்கினங்க தெய்வத்தால் ஆகாது எனினும் முயற்சி தன் மெய்வருத்த கூலி தரும் என்பதை நினைவில் கொண்டு ஒன்றுபடுவோம் செயல்படுவோம் வெற்றி பெறுவோம்

It is with immense pride and heartfelt gratitude that I address you as the President of the Cholia Vellalar Cultural Association, an organization deeply rooted in tradition, unity, and community service. Since its founding in 1996, our association has remained a strong pillar for the Cholia Vellalar community, preserving our rich cultural heritage while embracing the growth and aspirations of future generations.
Having had the honour to serve as President since 2022, and now into my second term until 2026, I am both humbled by the trust placed in me and committed to upholding the values that make our association vibrant and relevant. Over the years, we have grown in strength—not just in numbers, but in spirit, purpose, and the bonds that unite us.
Our mission remains clear: to foster cultural unity, encourage youth participation, support educational and welfare initiatives, and celebrate the customs and traditions that define us as Cholia Vellalars. Through our events, gatherings, and outreach, we continue to strengthen our identity while promoting inclusivity and collaboration among all members.
As we move forward, I invite every member, young and old, to actively participate and take pride in our heritage. Together, we can ensure that the legacy of our forefathers lives on—not just as a memory, but as a living, thriving community spirit.

வணக்கம் மற்றும் மனமார்ந்த வாழ்த்துகள்!
1996 ஆம் ஆண்டு நிறுவப்பட்ட சோழிய வெள்ளாளர் கலாச்சார சங்கத்தின் தலைவராக நான் உரையாற்றும் இந்தக் தருணத்தில் , பெருமையும் நன்றியுணர்வும் நிரம்பியுள்ளது. நமது பாரம்பரியத்தை பாதுகாத்து, சமூக ஒற்றுமையை வலுப்படுத்தும் இந்த அமைப்பு, தலைமுறை தோறும் வளர்ந்து வரும் இலட்சியங்களை ஒட்டி பயணிக்கிறது.
2022 ஆம் ஆண்டு முதல் சங்கத்தின் தலைவராக பணியாற்றும் சிறப்பையும், 2026 வரை இரண்டாவது முறையாக தொடரும் நம்பிக்கையையும் பெருமையாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறேன். இந்த ஆண்டுகளில் நமது சங்கம் எண்ணிக்கையில் மட்டுமல்லாமல், உறுதிப்பாடு, நம்பிக்கை மற்றும் உறவுகளில் வளர்ச்சியடைந்துள்ளது.
நமது நோக்கம் தெளிவானது: கலாச்சார ஒற்றுமையை வளர்த்தல், இளைஞர்களை ஊக்குவித்தல், கல்வி மற்றும் நலத்திட்டங்களை ஆதரித்தல் மற்றும் சோழிய வெள்ளாளர் மரபுகளை பெருமையாக கொண்டாடுதல். நமது நிகழ்வுகள், கூடடங்கள் மற்றும் சமூக ஒத்துழைப்புகள் மூலம், நமது அடையாளத்தை வலுப்படுத்தி, அனைத்து உறுப்பினர்களிடமும் ஒன்றுபட்ட மனப்பான்மையை வளர்க்கிறோம்.
எல்லா உறுப்பினர்களும்—மூத்த உறுப்பினர்களும் , இளையோரும்—நம் பாரம்பரியத்தை காத்து, செயலில் ஈடுபட்டு, பெருமையுடன் பங்கேற்குமாறு கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன். நம் முன்னோர்களின் பாரம்பரியத்தையும், சமூகவாத மனப்பான்மையையும் நம் ஒற்றுமையில் உயிர்ப்பிக்கலாம்.
